BUILDING TECHNOLOGY CONSTRUCTION PROJECT TelCom Fiber
SCOPE OF WORK:
$5 Million contract to provide IT support at facilities throughout the Washington DC metropolitan area for theU.S. Army Corps of Engineers, . This includes planning, engineering, installation, maintenance and removal of all LAN/WAN/MAN AWG network infrastructures at both military and commercial facilities. These networks extend between multiple buildings and facilities throughout each base.
Includes low voltage construction, installation, maintenance, and removal of tele-data facilities (voice, data and video) including outside plant, telephone and data inside wire, interconnect, terminal equipment, central offices, PABX, fiber optic cable and equipment, railroad communications, micro waves, VSAT, bypass, CATV, WAN (Wide area networks), LAN (Local area networks) and ISDN (Integrated systems digital network). WORK EXCLUDED: The installation of computer systems in industrial applications such as assembly lines, robotics and computer controller manufacturing systems. The installation of conduit and/or raceways was installed by Inside cable technicians. On sites where there is no Inside employed, the Teledata Technician install raceway and conduit not greater than 10 feet. Fire alarm work is excluded on all new construction sites or wherever the fire alarm system is installed in conduit. All HVAC control work.

In addition to standard maintenance, this contract allows Vision to perform activities up to and including design-build. A sampling of current or completed projects provided by Vision to the Department of the Army under this contract are shown below:
- Provision of (48) power-distribution units for the support of a data center
- Provision of data center consulting services in support of expanding services to include VoIP and video teleconferencing.
- Design and ongoing support of a complete multi-room audiovisual solution for a new building, encompassing videoconferencing equipment, plasma displays, projectors, speakers, control pads, and head-end/control cabinets for the entire system
- Network renovation and for an existing building floor
- Mission-critical data-center assessment and transition plan, encompassing architectural/structural, fire protection, plumbing, security, and mechanical/electrical
- Inter-building wireless network design and installation encompassing seven buildings
